The Transition Journey

From the moment God calls you to live a life in the uncharted, you surrender every ounce of comfort and every bit of familiarity.
I don't know if you're someone who thrives under change or crumbles under it but I've always found myself to love new seasons, new places, new people and when I know it's under God's calling, it makes it even more exciting.
However what I sometimes forget is how hard the transition process is.
As soon as God marks a calling on your life, change begins. For me, although I have only just moved to Chennai, the journey of change began months ago in March 2015. We get excited for what is to come and the life change that is to take place but often get so caught up in the excitement of new adventures that we forget the work that God wants to do in us.
Not a single step of this journey has come easily but not a single step do I regret because it caused in me a greater hunger and need for Jesus in my life daily. And trust me when I tell you, trying to make the challenges easier by putting sole trust in yourself or even in the people around you doesn't get you far. Only full freedom and abundance of life is found when we put our trust in Jesus Christ our saviour.

Matthew 14 v 25-33
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified.
"It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
"Lord if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
"Come." He said
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out "Lord, save me!"
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, "Truly, you are the Son of God."

I LOVE THIS SCRIPTURE. It shows me how gracious my God is.
Jesus always goes before me and always leads by example, stepping out onto the water before I have even considered it.
He comforts me in my fear.
He doesn't talk to me in paragraphs but in one word whispers.
I must have constant trust in that whisper and not doubt the power behind it.
Stepping out of the boat is fun.
It's never too late to call for His Help.
Jesus doesn't watch our failure happen and ridicule our lack of faith but stretches out his hand to give us a greater perspective.
Sometimes others won't recognise God's goodness until after you've stepped out for them.
You are a catalyst to other people's praise.
This one Scripture talks of our entire faith journey - scary, adventurous, bold, fun, and full of God's grace. Don't run from the transition, embrace the transition but also, don't stay in the transition. God has so much more beyond that one wave.
